The goal of this program is to provide employees with information about ways to protect their skin from the sun. Program materials include posters, newsletter articles, tip cards, and an interactive website. Researchers are also studying how sun safety information is passed from employees to ski area guests.

David is an expert in health communication, conducting research sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention since 1979. Many of David's current projects are centered on educating targeted groups about relatively small changes they can make in their lives that can save them from years of chronic illnesses. His Sunny Days Healthy Ways program has been recognized as a national resource for complying with the CDC and American Cancer Society's recommendations for skin cancer education. Prior to joining KB, Dr. Walkosz was a Professor of Communication and the Associate Chair of the Department of Communication at the University of Colorado Denver. She began teaching at the University in 1997 and retired in December 2010. While Dr. Walkosz's main focus is skin cancer prevention, her scholarship also focuses on health communication and education, social marketing, media literacy and civility. Dr. Walkosz received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and her Master's degree from the University of Colorado Denver. Ms. Hiller is the Assistant General Manager at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area and a Colorado native. She began working at A-Basin in 1997 and started the Human Resources department.
